NOWRA – NSW Cross Country Champs – Sat June 25th

OK it’s the big one! The one you’ve all been waiting for…………. NOWRA – NSW Cross Country Champs – Sat June 25th
This event is considered by many distance runners to be the most prestigious event of the Athletics NSW Winter Premiership. The event is conducted on one of Australia’s most respected courses at Willandra, just outside of Nowra.
The Open Championships are 12km for men and 8km for women, with shorter events being held in the junior age groups (U12 up to U20). There is usually a fun run of 4km and 8km during the afternoon open to unregistered runners too.If you haven’t run this one before you are in for a treat. The course is simply stunning. It has some challenging gradients to test us and the location and scenery is just superb.
AE can do very well at this event (as shown in the photo below of the female Open winners last year) but we’ll need a good AE turn-out to field teams across the categories. Other NSW clubs, that don’t have members with the balls that AE members do, often fail to get their full squad to this event. So simply put, the more of us that run, the better we’re likely to do.
So who’s running Nowra 2011?
Please let Pete and I know this week if you’ll be there and don’t forget to enter on-line before midday Thur 23rd (http://www.nswathletics.org.au/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=Event&EventID=15653)
