What a start to February !

The weekend started with a boom with 17 runners heading across the
bridge to participate in the Sun Fun Run. Victoria Mitchell was our
first runner home which also scored her first place in the women’s
category and a remarkable 11th place overall. The fun run team of
Eddie Piazza, Daniel Novak and Michael Parker finished in 10th
position and Rosemary Bridge finished 2nd in her age category.

Out to SOPAC for the NSW Junior Championships Day 1 and the club were
well represented in the girls divisions. Sara Dougan won her U16 Long
Jump with a PB and Open Club record of 5.69 metres. Jemima Keay Doak
seemed to be everywhere competing in 4 events with her 32.37 discus
throw smashing the club U18 record and Jemima is still only 13.

Back across the bridge to the North side with Robyn & Lesley flying
    the flag at Rotary.

Nicole Berridge raced in Canberra in the ACT Championships and ran
impressively to win her heat in a club record and PB of 57.14. There
are no finals and positions are decided on heat times.  Nicole also raced the 200 in Canberra running 25.64.

On Sunday we were back out to SOPAC for Day 2 of the NSW Junior
Championships, Sara Dougan carrying on from the previous day winning
her 100m in a stylish 12.31 with a legal wind reading on +0.2. Jemima
“only” competed in two events making that a staggering 6 for the
weekend. Hugo Whitehead was protecting his hamstring strain and chose
not to race but participated in the U18 5kg shot put to keep his
chances of competing at the National Juniors alive.
