The Annual ANZAC Day club cross country was held on a sunny Monday morning with good conditions. A slightly soggy surface but quite good in comparison of other years, the race made for some quick running and PBs for the runners.
Our male competitors were slightly down in numbers due to some illnesses and travel however this didn’t stop Ken Wilson, the usual track runner, taking charge from the start and gaining line honours.
The women’s race was hotly contested with a tight bunch over the first lap, the race was still close with the lead changing hands a few times between Stephanie Bullock, Rebecca Holmes and Gillian Sohun, however over the last 1km Rebecca was too strong and came through with a very big negative split to take the women’s title.
Congratulations to all runners and to the fun runners who also took part as this is a part of both streams club point score title.
