ANSW Cross Country Relays – 27th May 2017, Miranda
Sydney turned on summer like conditions for this year’s relays and runners found the conditions quite warm for cross country running.
This course proved yet again to be tougher than it looked testing all who ran. When elite do not run under 3mins per km for this distance you know it is slow.
The AE teams were affected by illness, injury and return from injury personnel. A serious ankle sprain to Sonia Mbekhta required a hasty change to three of the four female teams minutes before race start. With this in mind the AE contingent proved their worth and can hold their heads high for noteworthy performances.
Future races will benefit from these efforts, this quality training will have its rewards.
A very big thank you to all athletes for being flexible on team and running order.
